ADEPT Autumn Conference 2019

Well-connected places in a changing world

The conference will address some of the big issues facing place directors, particularly the comprehensive spending review, delivering place services, connectivity in a post-Brexit world and climate change.

The focus will be about the role of place leaders (place directors, LEPs, combined authorities and corporate partners) in enabling and delivering sustainable communities, helping them to thrive and achieve their ambitions.

The conference will explore what being well-connected means - digital as well as transport connectivity and mobility – and consider the potential of 5G.

The Government’s comprehensive spending review will set the financial context for place services.  A debate with organisations such as ADPH, ADAS, ADCS and the LEP network will be a centre-piece of the conference.

The conference will also delve into the post-Brexit world, and the proposed Shared Prosperity Fund, explore the opportunities for innovation and hear back from our ‘Live Labs’ projects.

Europe has shaped our approach to the environment and its protection and climate change is once again in the political spotlight.  The conference will hear from Government and ‘different’ high-profile speakers, whose views we do not always hear first-hand.

The workshops will include an opportunity to engage with SMEs, to discuss the nascent highways sector deal, the delivery of clean growth and the relationship between environmental and public health.

2019 has seen the launch of the ADEPT Leadership Development Programme, and the Conference will hear from participants.

The programme is available to download HERE.
