ADEPT Annual Conference 2017

The 2017 ADEPT Annual Conference was held at the Radisson Blu, Manchester Airport.  The event comprised a mix of plenary and workshop sessions starting on Thursday morning and finishing with lunch on Friday.

As Place Directors know only too well, the future is an ever-changing landscape. Digital technologies provide the tools to enable innovation, while at the same time, posing new and very different challenges that will change the way we live and work.  Big data and smart systems require the creation of a broad range of new skills, partners, networks and alliances to take advantage of this shifting world. 

ADEPT members are already working within an environment of infrastructure deterioration, housing need, air pollution and climate change, while creating the conditions for increased productivity and sustainable growth.  

We must also look ahead, building infrastructure and creating strategies that are fit for purpose post 2035, laying the foundations for community resilience and service continuity. 

This conference provided the opportunity to celebrate our successes in preparing for the future and to hear from challenging voices on the direction of travel needed in place shaping for tomorrow.
