Street Works Annual Conference & Awards

Street Works UK held its Annual Conference and Awards at a single event at Welford Road Stadium in Leicester on 28^th November 2018.

The event ran in two parts with the conference between 10.00am and 4.30pm and the awards ceremony starting at 5.00pm. The conference agenda comprised a mix of plenary sessions and breakout workshops. There was also be an exhibition area for delegates to visit during the day.

Delegates were able to attend two workshop sessions from the following options:

• Communicating street works: How to manage street works enquiries and engage with customers
• Compliance in street works: How to meet the highest standards when guidance continues to change
• Assessing waste: Update on on-going work to create a new assessment and classification methodology for excavated waste
• Mapping the underworld: Challenges and opportunities presented by developing means of mapping all buried utility assests
• Supercharging UK infrastructure: Examining the role of street works in helping to deliver the Government's infrastructure priorities
• Alpha to Beta: What's next for Street Manager
  

The awards ceremony focused on celebrating success in the street works industry, and comprised a reception (drinks & canapes) and the awards presentation. The awards span a range of categories reinforcing key street works themes such as innovation excellence, street works future, team of the year, and best communication.

Attendance was free for Street Works UK member delegates, who also benefitted from reduced exhibition stand rates. .
